自動升級功能自動執(zhí)行典型升級過程的每個步驟，并使我們能夠在盡可能少的人為干預下執(zhí)行升級。

AutoUpgrade基于一個配置文件，其中包含我們要升級的數(shù)據(jù)庫的詳細信息，我們還有一個AutoUpgrade作業(yè)管理器，它根據(jù)執(zhí)行AutoUpgrade的階段或模式來執(zhí)行各種與升級相關的作業(yè)。

默認情況下，autoupgrade實用程序使用的autoupgrade.jar文件是Oracle 19c軟件的一部分，位于$ ORACLE_HOME / rdbms / admin中–請注意，該文件在較低版本中不存在。我們必須從MOS注釋（2485457.1）下載此文件，并且可以使用此實用程序自動執(zhí)行從12c R2到18c的升級-不僅限于Oracle 19c。
